Puzzling World

Filed under: Travels (Holiday) — Ad @ 5:51 am

Fun day today, started off with me getting locked in the shower, had to break the lock, never felt so manly in my life, the guy in the campervan next to us looks exactly like gandulf in a tracksuit. Our afternoon was spent at puzzling world, pictures below!

Our Travels Today

Filed under: Travels (Holiday) — Ad @ 9:16 am

We spent most of the day today travelling, which sounds a bit lame, but the scenery was absolutely amazing. It has been a weird and stressful couple of days, due to the fact New Zealand has cost be more than I had anticipated, although as you can tell from these photos, the money spent has been worth it.

PS: I ache so much after yesterday’s gruelling glacier hike!

Franz Josef

Filed under: Travels (Holiday) — Ad @ 4:08 am

Today we went up Franz Josef’s Glacier, which was absolutly amazing, i was bricking it as I am little scared of heights, but I am so glad I did it. We went up as a group with a guide, because I am English and scared, I relised I would rather plumet to my death then be put in a socially awkward situation and look like an idiot in front of other people. I was also werry of going up the glacier due to my current financial situation, hopefully I will be able to sort myself out soon though. Unfortunaly my nose bleeds are back, which is lame!

Here are some pictures, note that I wore shorts up the glacier, this is not because I am hardcore, it’s just simply because I have split my jeans and wasn’t willing to wreck my other trousers:

South Island so far….

Filed under: Uncategorized — Ad @ 5:04 am

The ferry was a little choppy which brough us to the South Island (Middle Earth), our first day was just spent travelling, our second was spent, catching a water ferry then hiking back to our van, we have named our van, Sally after Sally Gunnel as although she isn’t much of a looker, she is a good runner.

Our plan for tomorrow is to hike along a glacier, Matt and Helen seem more excited about this then i do, this is mainly due to the fact i am kinda dreading it due to the height aspect.

Our campervan park that we pulled up to yesterday was rather interesing, as we pulled up in the van we noticed a pink car and numberplate pointed to the fact we may be camping with a crossdresser.

North Island

it is rather difficult in comparision in Canada to find places that have easy internet access, that is why there have been no recent blog entries. Our stay in the North Island ended last week, it was great. The weather was really sunny, which is definatly a bonus when you are staying in a campervan. There are some amazing sites in the North, one of the best sites for me was the Bay of Islands, where we went kayaking. On our ferry, we were lucky enough to see loads of Dolphins.

Goodbye Canada

Filed under: Travels (Holiday) — Ad @ 11:52 pm

Well I have been here a week and it is already time to leave. Canada has been interesting, it was a difficult few days when I first arrived. I felt pretty down about the whole travelling thing. As soon as a spoke to my Dad on the phone, Matt and Helen arrived and my suitcase arrived, things instantly started picking up.

We fly to New Zealand tomorrow, I really can’t wait. It is the part of the trip that I am most looking forward to. I’m not sure how much I will be able to use the internet, while I am New Zealand, as the majority of the time, we will be in a campervan. I will update this blog as soon as I can.

Thanks to everybody who has send me messages so far, so good to keep in contact with people from home!

Food and Austrialians

Filed under: Travels (Holiday) — Ad @ 5:03 pm

The last few days have been dam good especially in the food department, on monday we got the best burgers ever from a place called Veras, the girl who served me had visited Coventry 6 or 7 times, obviously my first response to this was….why? Last night we had the most amazing chinese, it was so amazingly cheap and we had so so much of it.

For some reason, all Canadians seem to think we are from Oz, which is a bit strange, I think because there are so many Austrialians in the hostel, we are slowly catching the accent, at the moment, I keep going up at the end of sentences, which is never a good thing.

A sunnier and happier day

Filed under: Travels (Holiday) — Ad @ 5:18 pm

Yesterday morning has pretty difficult as I was running out of money, clothes as well as this i was running out of patience with BA. I phoned home and found out my Nan had passed away, although this didn’t come as a shock, i was still pretty upset about the whole thing. Luckily yesterday was the day that Matt and Helen arrived in Vancouver, as soon as they arrived things started to look up.

It is very sunny here, which is always good when your mood needs a boost, also one of the main headlines on the news today was ‘dirty fruit’, which made me smile, not sure exactly what was happening in fruit news, I’ll let you know.

Day 2 in Canada

Filed under: Travels (Holiday) — Ad @ 3:14 pm

Day 2 in Canada and unsurprisingly: still no suitcase. I didn’t do much yesterday apart from wonder round and buy toiletries, the only toothpaste was I could find was spongebob squarepants toothpaste; it tastes amazing: bubblegum flavour. One of my roommates appears to have massive beef with me for no good reason, he doesn’t even speak to me when i come in the room but instead looks at me like I’ve just trodden on his cat or something, at least tonight my room mates are Matt and Helen. I plan to steal Matt’s clothes, thank god he is tall!
